Genton has recently provided a concept design for feasibility purposes for a priority development site in Footscray. The site is centrally located within the Joseph Road Precinct that will rejuvenate the area.
“Positioned at the heart of the exciting new ‘Joseph Road Precinct’, this site is set to form part of an extraordinary transformation of Footscray’s gateway to the Melbourne CBD. Fronting the Maribyrnong River, the ‘Joseph Road Precinct’ plans to create an active and vibrant mix of retail and residential uses linking the amenity of the river with surrounding residential streets and Footscray’s town centre” Shane Dargue, Colliers International
Genton Director, Steven Toia, noted that the site has the potential to form a key part for the future of the precinct linking the activities of the area, the riverfront and parkland in great proximity to the CBD. The feasibility design that Genton has prepared is based on the interpretation of the current Joseph Road Precinct Structure Plan however given recent determinations in the area some aspects of this could be reviewed through the planning & design stages. The size, position and orientation of the site provides great opportunities to create high amenity apartments and commercial suites with city views and retail podium to engage with the streetscape and forthcoming developments in the area.
